

METCALF Mr. Howard Benjamin Metcalf, age 69, originally of Easton, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at his home. He was born in Bridgeport on September 25, 1941, son of the late Harvey Edison Metcalf and Victoria (Michalek) Metcalf. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served during the Vietnam War. Later, he was a manufacturing engineer consultant, who worked for many major defense companies in Connecticut, including Pratt and Whitney, Sikorsky, General Dynamics, Remington, Colt Defense, and Sturm, Ruger and Co. Howard loved nature. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography and fine cuisine. But his greatest joys were his children and grandchild-ren. He leaves his children, Kristina Margaret (Metcalf) Bardinelli and her husband, Brian Bardinelli of Southbury; Jessica S. (Metcalf) Perrefort and her husband, Dirk Perrefort of Bethel; Benjamin M. Metcalf and his wife, Katie (Lynch) Metcalf of Wallingford; his grandchildren, Lisa Anne Bardinelli, Gregory James Bardinelli, and Hannah E. Perrefort. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Ann Metcalf of Monroe as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand-nephews. He was prede-ceased by his brothers, Roger Metcalf and David Metcalf.
