
Mr. Kelly, a native of Abbington, PA, was born on August 28, 1942 and attended St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Jim saw poetry in numbers and built a successful career in finance, working with the likes of Citicorp, Chase and General Electric. He also held a real estate license and worked briefly with the Kimball Group, building their commercial leasing portfolio. In his retirement, he was an active member of a stock trading club, and Treasurer of a computing club. He was also active with the Shelton (CT) Senior Center, and was President of the Shelton AARP. Jim loved to make people smile, and as a master balloon-maker, he brought great joy to children.
He married the love of his life, Jean K. Kelly, in January 1968. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Jean Kelly and his brother-in-law Gerry, and is survived by his sister-in-law, Judy O'Donnell, the last in what was a deep, lifelong friendship between the two couples; two daughters: Kimberly King of South Dartmouth, MA (Donald) and Jill Kimball of Easton, CT (John), and a number of nieces and nephews; his brothers John Kelly of California and Charles Kelly of Pennsylvania. He especially adored his grandchildren: Donald and Kayla, Jack, Susan and Elizabeth. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter Susan, his parents James, Sr. and Geraldine.
In lieu of a service, a celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
