I am saddened to hear about Bob's passing. I was privileged to have been a colleague for
many, many years at Long Lots and Coleytown.  What I remember most about Bob was
his attentiveness both towards the students he worked with and to those faculty members
with whom he interacted.

 For me, personally, Bob was a caring man. He would often provide his perspective on personal matters as I matured from being a neophyte to a more mature, focused teacher. Additionally, his shared understandings aided me in my personal life, marriage, a son, divorce, and remarriage. His gentle manner, his ready smiles were important traits in his universal dealings. Bob Derwallis was the quintessential guidance counselor, focused on
the many trials and tribulations of the middle school child, supportive and exceptional in solving problems. 

Know that Bob was much loved, an important member of the school community he served. It is gratifying to know that he will be fondly remembered by staff, and more importantly, he will be in the hearts of his great family throughout the years. In remembrance: Lloyd Stableford

It was with great sadness that I read the news of Mr. Derwallis' passing.  He was my guidance counselor at Long Lots Jr. High many years ago and made me feel better each time I spoke with him.  I know he helped shape the person I have become.  He was a wise and special person.  May the memory of his smile and wit continue to bring you joy.

So sorry for your loss.  May your memories bring you comfort.

Barbara we were so sad to hear about the passing of our beloved friend Bob.  We enjoyed many rounds of golf together at Newtown Country Club.  Our prayers and sympathy go out to you and your family.
