
Joanne Michele LaBua-Libby, entered peacefully into eternal rest at age 80 on Sunday, February 15th in Shelton. Born in Queens, New York on June, 23 1934 she was the daughter of the late John J. and Frances M. Walsh Moore. She was raised in the greater New York area and married and lived in Bedford, New York before moving to Shelton, Connecticut with her daughter Michelle. Joanne received her master’s degree in early childhood education/food preparation from Hunter College in New York. She worked in education for many years, directed food services for Somers School District in NY and was a licensed insurance, long-term care and life planner. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, dancing, and her Irish-Catholic heritage. Joanne is survived by daughters Andrea J. Budzynski of Illinois, and Michelle M. Hundt & husband Steven of Shelton, CT. She also has two lovely granddaughters Abigail Frances and Marcella Nicole Hundt. In addition she has a step-daughter Jeanne Libby of New York and two step-sons Gerold of California and Thomas Libby of New York. In addition to her parents, Joanne is predeceased by two siblings, John Joseph & Jacqueline Agnes Moore, and husbands, Anthony P. LaBua & John Willis Libby. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 19th at 12:00 PM, at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike Monroe. Interment will be private. Friends may visit Thursday morning prior to the Mass from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home 315 Monroe Turnpike Monroe.
