Joseph Alfred Pisano

Joe was born in Yonkers, NY and had been a resident of Monroe, CT for over 50 years. He and his wife Antoinette designed and built their home there, raising three sons and achieving the American dream. Joe is predeceased by his wife Antoinette Pisano after 68 years of marriage and is survived by his three sons; Douglas and his wife Elizabeth, Brian and his wife Kathy, Mark and his wife Ann Marie. Joe has also left behind four grandchildren, Laura, Samantha, James, and Alexandra and a niece and nephew.

Joe grew up during the Great Depression and through the World War II era and learned the values of hard work, determination and initiative. Joe achieved the level of Eagle Scout and took interest in aviation at a very young age. He flew his first solo flight at the age of 16 and held his private pilot’s licence for decades. Joe proudly served in the Army during the Korean conflict as a helicopter mechanic and then completed another eight years of service in the Army Reserve. Joe continued his affinity for aviation while working towards his degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Joe also earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering and his MBA. Joe enjoyed a successful forty year career in the Engineering Department at Sikorsky Aircraft, working in several managerial roles and handling confidential assignments.

During retirement, Joe and Antoinette enjoyed many activities including boating, fishing, beaching, traveling to many foreign countries and dining out with friends. One of his favorite pastimes was spending hours working on his boats, biking and walking in Jupiter and Juno Beach, FL. Joe would spend countless hours working on projects, documenting every detail and making sure that everything was in order. Most of all, Joe loved spending time wintering in Florida and sharing time with his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all.

A private service will be held at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, Monroe CT.
