After his daughters left Stamford to live in Monroe he and his wife moved to Monroe also to be near them and their families. He had many good years in Monroe with is wife by his side.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help anyone that needed it. He will be extremely missed by his whole family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Mary Rita Sagnelli, two daughters, Marie Forte (Gary Forte) of Monroe, CT and Linda Perimenis (Rory Perimenis) of Monroe, CT, five grandchildren, Amanda Lewis (Michael Lewis), Rory J. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Stephanie Brown and Betty Dimock for their love and compassionate help.
Mostly, we would like to thank Amanda and Michael Lewis for their constant love, caring and daily support of both Popop (Papa Joe) and Grandma Rita.
We will never forget your bright smile and joking, happy attitude and your constant supportive presence and love in our lives. You will certainly brighten Heaven a little more with that smile! We will always love you and you will always be in our hearts. We have a true guardian angel now.
