Born in Frosinone, Italy, on April 13, 1950, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Maria Marini. Lorenzo emigrated to the United States along with his family in 1960. He was raised in Bridgeport, CT and attended the University of Bridgeport, graduating with a Bachelor in History and Finance.
He was a retired Special Agent with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service. He later became a Fraud Investigator with the State of Connecticut Attorney Generals Office.
Lorenzo was a kind and simple man, who loved nothing more than being with family and friends. He enjoyed golf, reading anything Civil War related and hosting barbeques. He could often be seen walking around the house, cigar in tow, quietly reflecting. We never knew or will know what he was thinking, but it comes with peace to know he enjoyed it all.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Holly Marini of Monroe; his daughter, Charlotte and her husband, Steven of Southington; his son, John and wife, Kristi of Monroe; 2 cherished grandchildren, Evelyn and Vivianna; 2 sisters, Maria Luongo and Vincenza Marini of Bridgeport; nephews, Anthony Luongo (Linda) of Monroe and Vincenzo Luongo Jr. (Mari Lu) of Easton; niece, Angela Stuebben (Kurt) of Hillsborough, NJ; 3 great nieces, a great-nephew and a great-great-nephew; and many extended family and friends.
