

Marilyn Joan DeFilippo, age 77 of Monroe, CT, passed quietly at home on April 21 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Daughter of Edith and William Thompson, she was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. Following graduation from high school, she worked for the New York Telephone Company in the billing department. She wed Joseph DeFilippo in October 1956. They moved to Monroe, CT in 1958. She worked for Read’s Department Store warehouse in Trumbull and was a proud volunteer at Bridgeport Hospital. Marilyn was pre-deceased by her brother Joseph Thompson. She is survived by her husband Joseph and three children, Mark DeFilippo and wife Diane of Syracuse, NY, Donna Klein and husband Gerald of Sherman, CT, and Craig DeFilippo of Shelton, CT. She is also survived by her five loving grandchildren; Cristina Rabaglia, Stephen and Alec DeFilippo, and Gerald III and Brittany Klein. She enjoyed her morning cup of tea, gardening and time spent with her family. She will be missed by all her friends and family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Tuesday, April 26th at 10:00 AM at St. Jude Church 707 Monroe Turnpike Monroe. Interment will be private. Friends may visit Monday April 25th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home 315 Monroe Turnpike in Monroe.
