

Michael J. Mulroy, Sr., 88, of Monroe, beloved husband of Mary Catherine (Lindberg) Mulroy, passed away peacefully in his home on July 23, 2015. Michael was born on July 25, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Patrick and Margaret Mulroy and raised by his late step mother, Frances Mulroy. He was predeceased by his sister Catherine Flynn of Meriden. Michael was a veteran of World War II serving his country in Europe with the US Army 3rd Armored Division. He worked for many years as the Casualty Manager for the Hartford Insurance Group in Bridgeport, CT. He was a lifelong Brooklyn Dodger fan (eventually acquiescing to root for the Mets), loved his Wheaties and cookies and milk. In addition to his beloved wife Mary of 61 years, Michael is survived by his three children, Mike Jr., and his wife Diana of Derby, Mary Ellen Keleman and her husband John of Shelton, Brian Mulroy and his wife Lucille of Farmington, seven grandchildren, Michael III of Waterbury, Kelly D' Angelo and husband Nick of Enfield, John, Joseph and Jim Keleman of Shelton, Kimberly Mulroy of Washington DC and Patrick Mulroy of Farmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 27th at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Roman Catholic Church 707 Monroe Turnpike Monroe. Interment will follow in Monroe Center Cemetery Old Tannery Road Monroe. Friends may visit Monday morning prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Spadaccino and Leo P.
