He was predeceased by his father Raymond Lemire; his mother Rosanne Lemire; his sister Pauline Eva Lemire-Convertito; and his brother Paul Alphonse Lemire.

Robert Edmond Lemire, affectionately known to all as “Bob”, was born in Lewiston, Maine on July 20, 1946. After residing in Maine through his teenage years, he later moved to Connecticut when he was just 19 years old. He was a graduate from Post University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, and was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft where he worked for over 50 years. He was a devoted Christian who treasured sharing his beliefs in hopes to inspire a better life for those around him, and in his spare time, he loved to volunteer at his church, coach his daughter’s softball teams, and was a longtime volunteer for the Trumbull Marching Band and Winter Guard programs. Bob loved people, which made his post-retirement career as a crossing guard for the City of Derby the perfect environment to foster daily conversations with everyone he encountered.

With a cheerful laugh and infectious smile, Bob loved to give back to those in need whenever he had the chance. Because of this, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Connecticut Food Bank. ( There are countless people in need throughout our state, and what better way to honor the life of this extraordinary man than to continue in the spirit of generosity which he so enthusiastically revered.

Bob was an amazing representation of the caring, generous, and kind heart of God. He was a hard working volunteer at Gateway, and I never heard him say "no" to a request for help. I will miss his smile and the times when he would walk by my desk and say "you're precious " for no reason at all. I pray that his kids, grandkids, and remaining loved ones find comfort in their good memories of Bob, and in the peace that comes from knowing he is eternally healthy, happy, and rejoicing with the love of his life, Jesus Christ.

Bob was the most generous person I ever met.
He was a good father to many who needed help and support. He was always grateful for what God had done for his life, and with true love of Christ, he shared the blessing with those in needs.

So sorry for our loss.
I met Bobby this year and was part of a Bible study together. He was very witty,he enjoyed joking with everyone. And he loved worshipping Jesus. He is in heaven now. And probably making people laugh there.

I met Bob a few years back while serving at Gateway Christian Fellowship Church in West Haven, he never hesitated to come in early or stayed late just to help out. I will miss him sharing funny stories or memories from his Sikorsky days. Bob will be missed dearly. Love you brother. Hooah!!

Bob was always smiling and laughing. Times spent at his house in Monroe were times filled with good Christian fun and mutual respect. Our kids got along with each other and also enjoyed the family gatherings. I’m sure anyone who knew Bob will miss his presence.
Prayers for his family as they grieve over his absence and his love.
