

Edna was born on March 1st, 1917 in Park Rapids, MN to Marie Bartels Greene and Thomas Toohey. She resided in Minnesota until 1951 when her, her husband Gustie Carver, and their eight children moved to Monroe, WA. They settled into their family home on Chain Lk. Rd. where Edna lived until she was 93. Her legacy includes 20 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. With Edna's passing, she joins her husband of 51 years (Gustie), her oldest daughter Delores Smith, grandson Scott Carver, and granddaughter Mercie Carver.
Friends, family, and acquaintances will undoubtedly remember Edna as a caring, generous person with a vibrant personality and a warm and welcoming kitchen. She loved her hunting and fishing trips with family, playing bingo and bowling with friends, and was very proud of her work at Monroe Hospital. Edna was also a member of the Monroe Eagle's Club and a devoted disciple of Peace Lutheran Church.
There will be a visitation for Edna at Purdy and Kerr Funeral Home (409 W. Main St., Monroe, WA 98272) on Thursday, August 16th, from 1:00 to 5:00, and again on Friday, August 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (202 Dickenson, Monroe) on Friday, August 17th at 11:00 a.m.
Flowers may be sent to Purdy and Kerr Funeral Home and memorial contributions made to the Mercie Carver Memorial Greenhouse Fund at Sultan High School (13715 310th Ave. SE, Sultan, WA 98294).
The family also wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Peggy Carver and the staff at Regency Care Center for the compassionate care and consideration they gave to Edna in her final years.
