I have been friends with Jim for the past 8 or 9 years, we did stay in touch all the  time, but would check in with each other to see how the other were doing, we tried the dating thing, but we were so much better at being friends I thought Jim was great... What an amazing man.. The last time Jim had gotten into touch with me was a month before.. I don't live in the Seattle area anymore and haven't for awhile.. This was very heartbreaking for me to learn.. My deepest condolences to his family (especially his daughter) and friends..

I miss your smile. I miss you and your grumpy pants at work.  We all miss you and think of you often.

Jimmy and I have not seen each other since we were little kids, when he would visit his grandparents down the street. When we were about 8 we went to a Mariners game in the Kingdome together. He will be missed by those who knew him at any time in his life.

Jay and family,
I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss.  I remember your brother when my brother Scott died (same class/grade at IHS) he was a great man and will forever be in your hearts.  Blessings to your family Jay, my thoughts are with you.

I was so lucky and blessed to have had Jim as my brother for the past 25 years. Bailey was his shining light and nothing made him prouder than seeing what a beatuiful lady, inside and out, she had grown up to be. Family was everything to Jim and he was always ready for the next gathering, thr next joke and the next glass of wine..........So here's to you brother - you were very much loved and made all of our lives richer becuase you were in it. We love you and we will miss you but we will always be raising our glass to toast you.......

Jimmy,  I will miss you so much. I am thankful that I got to work with you. We spent years working together shoulder to shoulder. Driving our forklifts together and later being comrades as managers. The stress that some will never understand. Thank you for making me laugh when I wanted to cry. Thank you for singing with me almost daily when other people looked at me like I was crazy. I will miss your hugs, your smile. I send my prayers to your family. See you when it's my time to go. Love always your friend!

Jim was an amazing person adored his daughter and always a positive person there for me and my biggest cheerleader and support system through difficult situations in my life. I am so sorry I took for granted that I could always hear his voice or see him whenever we found time. It's heart breaking and I miss him and his daily text I have 2 voicemails which I cherish because he wasn't a phone talker LOL!! Bailey I am so sad but I know you had the most amazing example of how a man should treat woman and that you were truly the love of his life! You don't know me but I know you because you are all your dad spoke of with love and pride!

I have not known James, but I pray for his daughter Bailey often.  Her grandparents the Baileys are our dear friends.  Prayers for all the family.  From the Reads.

Jim was a wonderful father to Bay and devoted son to Bill and Mary Toupin and a great person in general. He will be remembered as a friend  to all who had met him. Jay and Jim were brothers but they also were best friends. We have had the honor to know Jim for 28 years and Patsy and I have always felt he was like a son and they are part of our family.
