Dear Aunt Debby, Karl, Sarah, Jeff, Rachel, Ashley, and the grand babies,

I want to share my gratitude with you all for helping to make my Uncle Ken so happy  in life!  You are all the center of his world and I can tell you that he truly loved you with his whole heart and beamed with pride when updating me how you were all doing each time I was blessed to see him.  

Uncle Ken has always held a special place in my heart!   Ever since I was a little girl, he always had the biggest smile, the kindest eyes, the most loving heart, a love of adventure, the courage of a lion, the strength of a titan, the determination of a champion, and a never ending love for his family! 

I remember so vividly when he would come home from wherever he was out living life and exploring for my birthday telling me all about the fun he was having, the beautiful places he saw,  and the interesting things he learned!  One year he came home tanned golden brown, hair sun bleached, wearing white jean painter pants, a tank top and flip flops!  He looked like he was living as a surfer in California but he told me he had been in Mexico!  I couldn’t believe he went so far away from home!  lol!  He giggled and told me, “It’s not that far kid! Someday you should go!”  He opened my eyes to the beauty he saw so I wanted to travel like him!  

I loved family gatherings growing up when he was there!  He liked goofing off,, having fun, and just hanging out as family!

My Uncle Ken was so talented!  He did whatever he put his mind to, built anything he wanted to, fixed everything, helped everyone, and taught his children to be good, kind, loving people.

Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing my Uncle Ken I’m sure has shared what a wonderful person he is!  He was taken too early with so much life to live.

Sending you all my love and praying for your hearts to find comfort in the memories you have and cherish the special moments you can smile remembering his love.

Ken was known as Oly to his school friends, I was Lil' Oly. He played soccer for years. He was good and it kept him out of trouble. Early on, for some reason he just couldn't make time for showers. I will never forget how Mom had asked him if he had taken his shower and of course he said yes. Well, she stormed out of the bathroom shouting that the soap wasn't even wet and pulled him by his ear back towards the bathroom. When the family piled into the car to drive to Disneyland - straight through - only stopping at the side of the freeway if us kids had to pee. I started crying when I saw a tree outside the window all by itself in a field. Kenny asked me how I didn't know that the tree wasn't all the stronger for having all of the sun and rain to itself.. Our Grandma "O" would take us to Woodland Park Zoo having picnic lunches, sh always gave each of us a shiny new silver dollar. We could always count on her to put a few dollar bills in our birthday cards. We never thought of her as trying to buy our love, she already had it. Perhaps because she didn't have a husband, she seemed rather odd. She was very opinionated and would never give out candy on Halloween claiming it was bad for children to get ramped up on all that sugar in one day, Once while staying at our Nana & Pappy's house Ken got his finger caught in their lawn mower. He was screaming and crying as much as it was rightly painful, I remember my Pappy yelling, "Stop your crying, the neighbors are going to think I'm beating you!" I didn't understand why he didn't shut off the mower, put his arm around him and take him inside to Nana. When we stayed there once each of us kids got a little turtle. We would get to ride in the back of his pickup truck coming back from the dump. Our Pappy would take us fishing. The first fish Kenny caught I said, "Oh, let me hold it." He let me and I threw it back in the water. 

All of my memories are surely pale in comparison to the blessed life he has had with his family. 💝

With my love and respect for Debby and her entire family, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your loving husband, father & grandfather. I am so grateful he had all of you in his life. You all brought him so much joy. You are what he always wanted. Kenny was the adorable sandy blonde haired and freckled face boy down the street, the kid who looked like the son of a beach boy. As Ken's little sister, I admired him and deeply appreciated his guidance and protection growing up. He was a good big brother; he was always willing to share his prize toys, gadgets and secret discoveries with me – like where Dad hid his carton of cigarettes and Playboy magazines. He loved playing drums. He even showed me how and let me play his set. He was so proud. I let him play my electric guitar. . As kids we played kick the can outside in the middle of the street with all the neighborhood kids until our father whistled for us to come home. He shared his imagination and matchbox cars with me in the flower bed as I made Flintstone houses out of bark. Kenny was always the get out and go kind of guy. He was the kid on the block with a unicycle.  He wasn't a trouble maker but mowed lawns and took out the trash. The first month he got his paper route for the Seattle Times he broke his leg and had a full cast - I remember delivering the papers but I remember even more how impressed I was by his precise instructions for me where to leave each paper. He was like a wizard to me orchestrating this entire process. He was relentless in his pursuit of learning how things worked; I remember how extremely pissed off Mom was when he disassembled the toaster and couldn't put it back together. But I remember how he showed me how to reassemble the carburetor for my enduro Kawasaki 125 cycle he gave to me after he got his Bultaco 175 dirt bike. (1/2)
