Lisa was born in Bridgeport Connecticut to Leo & Joan Auray. Her love for travel eventually brought her to the Northwest in the 90’s and she fell in love with Washington and decided to stay. Her adventurous spirit inspired her to try white water kayaking where she met her husband Matt. They were happily together for 24 years. Her career at UPS lasted 18 years until she was diagnosed with cancer.
Lisa’s love for travel was at the center of everything she did. She was blessed to have spent many years cruising in the Caribbean with her mother Joan. When not traveling, Lisa could be found in her garden, spending sunny days boating out on the sound, or on early morning trainings with her Sammamish rowing team.
Lisa kindness was felt in all aspects of her life. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She is survived by her husband Matt, her son Sydney.
She will forever be missed. We love you sweet Lisa.
Peaceful Retreat
Down a narrow hidden path
Sought out by Wisdom's eye
A peaceful place of refuge calls
To come rest awhile beside
Listen to the waters
Falling over mountains steep
To gently flow for endless days
Through eternity's retreat
And on the far horizon
Of the never setting sun
The harvest of the whitened wheat
Is very nearly done
As work on earth comes to a close
Peace will be complete
Surrounded by the beauty
