

Louise Nelson, born on November 11, 1927, in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Charles and Gladys Frye, was a remarkable woman whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. As one of five siblings, she faced the challenges of growing up during the Great Depression, which instilled in her a strong work ethic and resilience.
Louise's journey began when she married at a young age during World War II, leading her from Kansas to Louisiana, California, Idaho, and eventually to Monroe, Washington. Throughout her life she was strong and resilient raising her children on her own. She spent several years as a bartender at Jenos Restaurant in Monroe, where she made many friends
Louise was preceded in death by her siblings and 6 of her beloved children: Alan, Patty, Bradley, David, Betty, & Linda. Her surviving children are Wanda, Grant, Colleen, Leonard, & Melissa, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Louise’s legacy of strength, will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11AM at Purdy & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home, 409 W. Main St., Monroe, WA 98272.
