Wilma Jean Bachelor peacefully passed away in her sleep and joined our late father, James (Jim) Thomas Bachelor, in heaven on February 13, 2024. Jean was 88 years old and had a fulfilling life that began in Thayer, Missouri in 1935. She traveled with our maternal grandparents, Wiley and Ruth Cole, along with her sister, Mary, and brother, Jerry, to Texas, eventually settling in Indiana. It was in Indiana that she attended Indiana University and met and married James. She was an exceptional mother to her children Doug, Karen, Jim, and Scott, and traveled extensively across the country as Jim fulfilled various assignments in the Air Force. Jean had a deep love for Jim, her children, their diverse group of friends, and her extended family. She took great pleasure in reading, being involved in a sorority, as well as raising Australian Shepherds. Jean had an extraordinary memory and captivated her
children, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren with her storytelling skills. Despite her physical health declining in her final days, her spirit, smile, and love remained unwavering. Jean, you will forever hold a special place in our hearts and minds, and we are grateful for the values and life you shared with us.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Prattville, Alabama.
