Eldred Anthony Auzenne (known as “Tony”) was born January 16, 1933 in Frilot Cove, a rural area outside of Opelousas, Louisiana and passed away peacefully on April 11, 2021, at his home in Duarte, California.
Tony proudly served his Country in the United States Army and was deployed to Korea during his tour of duty.
After his service tour, Tony moved to Southern California to join other Louisiana relatives and became employed with various Government Contractors as a machinist, manufacturing and preparing helicopter blades and rotors for use on military units such as the “Huey” and Apache helicopters.
Tony was a proud and active member of the Knights of Columbus serving the Immaculate Conception Parish and community for many years. There were so many Auzenne men in the organization, they nicknamed themselves The “A” Team, within the group.
Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as an avid sports fan, baseball in particular, but all sports received his attention.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Audrey Mae Auzenne; daughter Kathleen Theresa Auzenne of La Verne, CA; son Michael Anthony Auzenne and his wife Pam of Covina, CA; grand-daughters Hollie S. Lohff, Christen A. Soto, Dana K. Fillhart and Ivy S. Lohff, four great-grandsons, as well as nephews and nieces living in California, Texas and Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Gregory Auzenne and Josephine Cecile Auzenne; his brothers, Dudley Auzenne and Richard Auzenne; and three sisters, Gertrude Auzenne, Earline Trahan and Adele Auzenne.
There will be a small graveside service officiated by Pastor Karen (Auzenne) Mastrogiovani to honor his life and home going.
Pallbearers will be Hollie Lohff, Christen Soto, Rich Soto, Dana Fillhart, Casey Fillhart, Ivy Lohff and Richie Soto.
There will be no gathering planned after the service, for the protection of all parties.
