

George James DeLellis went home to his Lord on September 27th, 2015 at the age of 89. He was at home with his wife of 60 years and being cared for by his loving granddaughter Bridgette. George was born February 22, 1926 to Attilio DeLellis and Mary Berardi DeLellis in Cold Creek, Colorado. George grew up in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, California and attended Lincoln High School. He joined the Navy right out of high school and served in World War II as well as the Korean War. After serving his country, George went to work for Southern Pacific Railroad where he worked until retiring in 1985. One passion all of Georges, life besides his family, was golf which he played or watched almost daily.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dominic DeLellis.
George is survived by his wife Leatrice DeLellis of Corona. His son Vincent (Vinnie) DeLellis, daughter-in-law Barbara DeLellis. Grandchildren Brittany, Bridgette, Matthew, Marlow, Ryan, Sarah, and David. Great Grandchildren Katelyn, Brooke, Sydney, and Victoria. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside service will be Saturday, September 10, 2015 - 10:00 am at Turner & Stevens Live Oak Memorial Park & Mortuary - 200 E. Duarte Ave - Monrovia, CA 91016.
Immediately following the service, family and friends are gathering at the home of son Vincent in Corona to share memories and stories of George.
