Megan Suzanne Reigner-Chapman was an amazing and awesome person to have in your life. She burst forth on the scene at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia on May 15th, 1983. Her parents were Chris and Suzanne Reigner. Megan grew up on the streets of Glendora and Azusa. When her sister Katie joined the cast, Megan quickly became her cultural guide. Megan always had a book, show, or song to introduce to her sister.
Even as a young girl, Megan had a passion for reading, and she exploded with creativity! She enjoyed reading the classics of course: Goodnight Moon, Mouse and the Motorcycle, Where the Sidewalk Ends, and – of course – Where’s Waldo? Megan was always eager to show her artistic side with various crafting projects. Growing up, she also enjoyed her time playing softball and with Girl Scout’s as a Brownie.
Megan graduated from Charter Oak High School in 2001. While at school she excelled in all things creative: reading, writing and theater. She also developed a love for music. She formed a group with like-minded individuals forever known as the We Care Posse. Throughout, and long after high school, this group – Maria, Paul, Angie, Emily, Christine, and Megan – became the closest of friends. Together they celebrated their love of Ska, concerts, and trips that appreciated the wonders of California.
Megan meet Chris Chapman in 2005, and they instantly hit off with much success. Partners in crime (without all the crime!). Together they enjoyed photo adventures, treasure hunting, sitting quietly while reading, driving along the coast, or discussing the latest twists and turns on their televised stories. They finally got around to solidifying their union on October 15th, 2011 near the ocean, in Huntington Beach.
While dedicating time to being a responsible adult, she dabbled in some skip tracing, data entry, and payroll before landing her sweet gig at the Hot Topic Corporate office. While not adulting, she never stopped exploring her creative passions. She wrote poetry and was always working on her stories. She was an avid photographer while enjoying landscapes, macro images, and she always had a new camera or technique to experiment with. She traversed the internet like a pro with her journals, blogs, and podcasts. She forever remained devoted to her music and was always happy to share her newest find.
Megan enjoyed talking about her many fandoms & interests and was willing to share her passion with anyone who would listen. She loved The Lord of the Rings and those Harry Potter books and films. She enjoyed the shows dealing with a TARDIS, underground hatches, Golden Girls, and the 4077th. She was a devoted fan of many games like Pokémon, Animal Crossing, and Dungeons and Dragons, as well as having a fondness of Pirates, Catbuses, pachinko, funny hats, and crushed ice.
Megan enjoyed travel, whether it was just down the street listening to the jams, or far-and-wide exploring the natural beauty of the world around her. Her favorite vacations included everything and anything up the coast of California. Some of her best stops were San Diego, Big Sur, Monterey Bay, and anywhere she could collect sea glass. She also enjoyed going out with friends and family to local concerts, plays, comedy shows, or relaxing on the pier, outside a tent, or just visiting and chilling on the couch.
Megan was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. She loved all her cats including JB Kitty, Sarah, Clovis, Clay Aiken, Ramona, Abraham, The Doctor, Dandelion, and Wexter. Megan got a kick out various wild animals as well, including the Great American buffalo, opossums, moths, sea monkeys, lobsters and mantis shrimps. When she could, she would also visit her dinosaur friends in Cabazon. Besides caring for her animals, she also enjoyed tending to her succulents and other plants.
Megan passed away on May 24, 2019 at San Antonio Regional Hospital, Upland California. Megan was brought down by aggressive cancer and its complications. She is survived by her husband Chris, mother Suzanne, father Chris, sister Katie, niece Addison, and nephew Parker. Megan’s awesomeness was celebrated by friends and family at Community Baptist Church in Rancho Cucamonga. Megan will be at rest by going back to Big Sur one more time.
Though she could be a private person at times, Megan would be there when needed. She loved life, relished everything dorky, unusual, and absurd. She was amazingly creative with a sticker for any occasion and a personal gift crafted just for you. She was loved deeply by all, and her absence is felt by all those that knew her.
