Tom was the Love of Anna Marie’s life, and the void Tom left is great. She is forever grateful God chose her to be Tom’s wife.
Served US Army 1966 – 1968 Oakland, CA
While in Oakland Tom took classes at the University of San Francisco. After the Army, Tom worked in various industries, as he attended New Jersey State College, Newark College of Arts and Sciences, and Rutgers University. Tom particularly enjoyed classes in Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology. After marriage and moving to Monrovia, Tom took classes at Citrus College. Tom was an avid reader.
While in the Army Tom enjoyed the Oakland area, fueling his desire to return after his discharge from the Army. However, he never made it to Oakland, but instead ended up living in Panorama City.
Tom worked in Transportation for the Studios as a driver. He worked at the various studios for 34 years. Once he retired he followed his interest in psychology by becoming a Life Coach. With his wife, Anna, they coached engaged couples, and helped married couples enrich their marriages through their church, Calvary Chapel, Monrovia.
While watching Billy Graham one night he responded to the invitation to accept Jesus as his Savior, and that started him on his walk with God. Knowing God’s Word was of importance to him. No matter what church he attended, Tom was serving in some role.
During the working years and into retirement, Tom and Anna made lots of memories. They fitted in lots of snow skiing, traveling domestically and overseas, and sailing as crew on tallships for the Los Angeles Maritime Institute. But, Tom’s favorite activity was playing tennis, playing four-five times a week. Later in his tennis career he played tournaments, and was an Over 65 Champion.
It did not take long for Tom, with his sense of humor and easy going ways, and a natural interest in people, to make friends. Tom was greatly respected and loved by all who had the privilege to know him.
Memorial Service was held, Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Calvary Chapel, Monrovia, California in person and online. The service can be viewed at the church’s website: https://www.facebook.com/calvarychapelmonrovia/ or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0hRrIuciVo
