Arthur W. “Tommy” Thompson, age 90, of Aiken, South Carolina, formerly of Hueytown, Alabama, died on January 25, 2015. He was a graduate of Jones Valley High School and served in the US Navy on the USS Lexington during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Sidney Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Bullock Thompson; children, Edward Thompson (Patty), Janet Thompson Baldwin (John), Jeffrey Warren Thompson (Beth), and Leslie Dale Thompson; grandchildren, Brian Thompson, Kristen Thompson Armstrong, Natalie Thompson, Ashton Thompson Rushing, Melissa Thompson Pasley, April Thompson, Brantley Dale Thompson, and Megan Shoupe; great-grandchildren, Austin Ray Armstrong, Joshua Wharton, Easton Stein, and soon to be born, Mila Joy Pasley; and sister, Betty Jean Cassidy.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). A graveside service will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 2:45 PM at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. Online condolences may be made at www.rockcofuneralmontevallo.com.
