

Born on the 31st day of July in 1942, Bobby Allen Thames graced this world with his presence. It was on August 20th of this year that he breathed his last earthly breath and took a deep and healthy inhale into his eternal home. Whole again. He has gone to meet his maker, his Lord, his Savior. In the 29,605 days he was a blessing to multitudes.
Bobby is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sandra Gail Alexander Thames, his parents, Houston Allen Thames and Nannie Lou Straughn Thames.
Bobby is survived by his sisters Jo Ann Thames Bollent and Becky Thames Maherg; sons Jeffrey Allen Thames and his wife Amy; Brady Alexander Thames and his wife Andrea; daughters Tracy Carol Thames and her fiance Guy Krebs; Courtney Summer Thames Miller and her husband Mike; grandchildren Austin and Jordan Thames, Madison Thames Anderson and her husband Cory, Luke and Kennedy Miller, and cherished nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
Transportation manager, head football coach, President of Dixie Youth Baseball, youth group leader, “Father of the Year”, Sunday school teacher, deacon, elder, staff sergeant, Daddy Bob and Poppa to many, Bob wore many hats…. including houndstooth. He impacted the lives of family, friends, his church and his community.
While Bob was a blessing to others, his greatest blessings were his grandchildren second in line to the saving grace and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.
Services will be held on Saturday afternoon the 26th of August at First Presbyterian Church of Alabaster. Visitation will be from 10-11am, services beginning at 11am. Graveside to immediately follow.
