Carmel W. “Junie” Jeffrey Jr., 70, of Maylene, AL formerly of Jeffrey, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on November 17th, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Connie Jeffrey, daughter Jada Jeffrey Knight, grandchildren Laurel and Cole Knight, sister Hilda Dean, and nephews Jeff, Todd, and Jon Dean. He was preceded in death by his father, Carmel W. “Patch” Jeffrey Sr. and mother, Dorothy “Dot” Jeffrey.
After graduating from Scott High School, Junie began his life long career as a coal miner working in West Virginia and Alabama before retiring.
Above all, Junie loved his family. He instilled in them the importance of faith, the value of hard work, and having a sense of humor. He especially enjoyed being a papaw to his grandchildren. He was a friend to many and never met a stranger. Memorial service to be held at a later date.
