Carolyn Joyce Cupp, age 71, of Pinson, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Carolyn was born on February 4, 1953 in Birmingham, Alabama, the oldest of four girls. Carolyn was a graduate of Calera High School (1971) and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Over the years, she worked in computer programming and project management for Southern Life and Health, and then transitioned into the banking industry. She was a devoted Auburn Tigers fan. She cherished her sisters and was the best big sister ever. Her beloved nieces and nephews, and later their children meant the world to her. They all agree she was their favorite ‘cool aunt’. She enjoyed trips to her condo in Panama City Beach and loved to eat fresh seafood.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur G. Cupp, Jr. and Myrtle Moore Cupp Hester; sisters, Judy Cupp Cox and Cathy Cupp Hadaway; and the love of her life, David Clecker.
Carolyn is survived by her sister, Bonnie Cupp Thomas (David); nieces, Meg Thomas Hays (Perry) and Cacy Lowe Hadaway; nephews, Charles Henry "Chip" Cox III (Meena) and James David "Jay" Thomas III; great-nieces and nephews, Abby, Emily, Ella Claire, and Benjamin Hays, Dalton and Daylon Hogg, Aliana and Henry Cox; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
She was one tough cookie and she will be greatly missed by so many people.
