Carolyn "Carol" Lunceford Tucker

Carolyn “Carol” Lunceford Tucker, age 70, of Calera, died on April 21, 2017. She was a nurse for 40 years, at Shelby Medical Center and for Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Howard in Calera. She attended South Shelby Baptist Church. She was always fashionable, and loved gardening and crocheting. She loved her big, loud family and friends; and her little, loud Chihuahuas. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Glenn Lunceford and Helen Goodwin Lunceford; and brothers, Michael “Mike” Lunceford and Donald “Duck” Lunceford. She died along with her grandson, Ryan Heith Harris. Carol is survived by her children, Rodney Harris, Lisa Page (Scott) and Randy Harris (Melissa); grandchildren, Alicia Benton (Kelvin), Bret Page, Courtney Page, Ashley Welch (Jacob) and Emily Harris; great-grandchildren, Jayden Benton, Baylee Benton, Wyatt Welch, Rhett Welch, Kayden Harris, and Jaxson Harris; four sisters; one brother; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services for she and her grandson will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with burial to follow at Salem Cemetery in Calera. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Bro. Jack Spinks will officiate. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up in the name of Ryan Harris at Central State Bank for her and her grandson's expenses. Any money raised above the cost of the services will be used for Ryan's children's future educations.
