

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Charles Edward Hutson announces his passing at the age of 72 on January 1, 2026 in Alabaster, Alabama. He was surrounded by his family and felt their immense love as he went to be with his Lord and Savior. Charles was born on April 5, 1953. He was a faithful, compassionate, hard-working, honest, gentle, devoted, kind-hearted, and selfless individual who touched the lives of many.
Charles grew up in Center Point, Alabama, where he graduated from E.B. Erwin High School in 1971. He furthered his education at Jefferson State Community College. Before he retired as the owner/operator of his trucking company, Hutson Trucking, Charles’ career also included many years at Cummins, Inc. in Tarrant, Alabama.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Betty Hutson. He is survived by his beloved wife Linda Hutson, of 49 years. Together, they raised three children: Bradley Hutson (Jennifer), Joshua Hutson, and Jeremy Hutson. He was also the proud grandfather of three grandchildren, Tucker, Taylor and Turner Hutson. Charles is also survived by his siblings, Wayne Hutson (Glenda), Pam Kennedy (Skip) and Steven Hutson (Teresa), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham since 1999. A man of many interests, Charles enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He was an avid Alabama football fan. He loved traveling and spending time with his family. Charles also had a passion for bowling and participated in many leagues.
The family extends their gratitude to ExpectCare Hospice in Hoover for their support and care. Charles Edward Hutson will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A Visitation for Charles will held at the First Baptist Church of Pelham on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 10:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am. Charles will be laid to rest at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
The family requests that flowers be sent to the church.
