Frank Lesley “Bud” Cox, age 80, of Helena, passed away March 23, 2016. He served in the Air National Guard and worked as a Millwright for Southern Electric Steel. He retired as management after 23 years, went to work in Ohio, then Illinois, and settled in South Carolina where he retired after 20 years from the Highway Department. He loved to tinker and could repair most anything. He loved to fish, hunt, race cars, and watch racing and Alabama football. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. and Alma Mae Rucker Cox; son, Keith E. Cox; and grandson, Justin Hyde. He is survived by his children, Darlene Cox Calfee, Jeanette Cox Kendrick and L. Wayne Cox; daughter-in-law, Delories C. Cox; 6 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; 6 great-grandchildren; and his brother, John Wesley Cox. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). His funeral service will be Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2:00PM at Rockco, with burial to follow at Helena City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
