Alfred Pickett, age 96, of Pea Ridge, AL, died February 7, 2015.He served in the US Navy and US Army. Alfred was a coal miner for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Venita Carroll Pickett; his parents, William Pickett and Elisabeth Kromer Pickett; 6 brothers; and 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Inez T. Pickett; son, Sydney Pickett (Linda) of Calera; stepson, James Garner (Shelia) of Montevallo; grandchildren, Cynthia Mitchell of Pea Ridge and Sydney Pickett, Jr. (Emerald) of Salisbury, NC; step-grandchildren, Tina Etress (Wayne) of Shelby, Michael Garner (Karen) of Calera, and Lori Pate (Jonathan) of Randolph; great-grandchildren, Giavanna Mitchell and Daniel Pickett; and step great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Jesse and Sarah Allen, Kiersten Pate and Olivia Pate, Tye and Hayden Garner. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). Visitation will begin at 12:00. Bro. Ray Smith and Bro. Brook Lovett will officiate and burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery in Pea Ridge.
