

John is preceded in death by his wife of more than 10 years, Linda Marie Poe; parents, mother, Nellie Faye Poe; father, Johnnie Earl Poe; brother, Lewis Durwood; brother, Carl Leon; and sister, Betty Jane.
John is survived by son, Eric John Poe (Whitney); son, Brian Sean Poe (Stacy); daughter, Heather Nicole Stubbs (Corey); daughter, Brittany Wells; son, Cody Sharpe (Christy); brother, Ricky Wayne (Carolyne); brother, Larry Charles (Bernadette); sister, Janie Mae; sister, Lucy Christine; sister, Mary Elaine (James); sister, Johnnie Faye (Wayne) and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John is also survived by his companion Bobbie.
John went to Jemison High School then soon began his career at Chemical Lime Plant for 27 years. John loved to be outdoors, he was an avid fisherman who loved his fish tales. John also enjoyed hunting and to ride the four-wheeler. John was a beloved pawpaw to his grandbabies, he loved to tinker on his four-wheeler with them, play basketball and being surrounded by all their joy. He was a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
A funeral service will be held for John on Wednesday April 13, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. John will be laid to rest on Thursday April 15, 2022 at 10:00 am at Rock Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
