Kassie Anita Williams, age 46, of Montevallo, Alabama, passed on May 12, 2026. Kassie was born at St. Vincent's Hospital on August 15, 1979 to Brad and Anita Williams. She graduated from Shelby County High School. She spent her adult life caring for children and people who needed her.
Being born with Spina Bifida did not stop her from fulfilling her dreams. She overcame many surgeries in her younger years. She learned to walk, dance, paint, ride a bike, and best of all, drive a car. When she got her car, nothing could stop her. She gained her independence and blossomed. Kassie was funny and always lit up the room. She loved music, especially the Beatles. Kassie was a collector of everything. Books were her passion, dolls were her joy, painting with watercolors was her pleasure, and fishing gave her the thrill of victory. She was a member of The Birmingham Doll Club of Alabama. She also created her Spina Bifida blog, helping many followers with advice on the daily routine of living with Spina Bifida. Kassie had a passion for thrift stores that was amazing, and never passed up a good gift shop. She loved her friends and family deeply, but the thing she loved the most was The Lord Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Rosalie Williams, Edward Crane, and Bobby Joe and Lois Crane Franks. Kassie is survived by her parents, Brad and Anita Williams; brother, James "Bo" Mitchell (Beverly); sister, Kelley Winston; nephews, Norman "Trip" Winston and Mitchell Winston; niece, Amelia Winston; uncles and aunts, Anthony "Tony" Crane, Frank Williams (Phyllis), Faye Crane Duke (Lonny); and cousins, Gina Crane Mednick, Amy Crane, Allison Crane Pearman, Robin Crane Saffold, Lesley Crane.
