Kathryn “Kay” Kimmey Elmore, age 82, of Mary Esther, FL, passed away on May 25, 2016. Kay worked in advertising for her most of her career, most notably at Peter A. Mayer Advertising in New Orleans, LA. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Walton Beach, FL. After a stroke, she came to Birmingham to be close to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lieutenant Commander Samuel B. Elmore (US Navy); parents, Raymond Kimmey and Ramona Kelly Kimmey, of Dayton, OH; son, Dale James Dunham; and brother, James Kimmey. Kay is survived by her daughters, Pamela Dunham Hyatt and Allison Marie Whittington; grandchildren, Ramona Taylor, Robyn Whittington, Nicole Phillips, and SSG Joshua Hyatt (US Army); and multiple great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) from 12:30-1:30 PM. Her committal service will follow at 2:00 PM at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
