Margaret O'Neal Lewis

Margaret O’Neal Lewis, age 88, was born October 16, 1925 in Bibb County, Alabama and died August 27, 2014 at Caretel Inn in Linden, Michigan, in the care of Garland and Residential Hospice. She graduated from West Blocton High School in 1945 and married Keith R. Lewis, Corporal-US Marine Corps, on August 5, 1950. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith R. Lewis of Brierfield, AL; sister, Joanne Wright of Jasper, GA; brother, Lennis Eddings of Valparaiso, FL; brother in-law, Eulas Mitchell of Montevallo, AL; mother, Mattie O’Neal Eddings; and father, Oren F. Eddings. She is survived by two children, Garland O’Neal La Forest and husband, Michael Langford of Fenton, MI, and Cheryl G. Hall and husband, Warren Hall of Seat Pleasant, MD; 5 Grandchildren, Michael and wife, Renee La Forest of Novi, MI, Joshua La Forest of Flint, MI, Teresa Danvers of Greenville, TN, Cindy Godfrey of Rutherfordton, NC, and Russell Godfrey of Rutherfordton, NC; sister, Gwendolyn Mitchell of Montevallo, AL; 5 Great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was cremated in Michigan and returned to Alabama for a memorial service and burial alongside her husband at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. on October 17, 2014 at 11:30 AM Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo, AL. Luncheon to follow service at Rockco with interment at 2:00 PM at the cemetery.
