Mary "Kathy" Holcombe, age 72, of Brierfield, Alabama went Home on Friday, February 11, 2022. Mary was born May 22, 1949 to David and Velvie Owens. She retired from Walmart in Hoover where she worked as a pharmacy manager. Kathy was a member of Montevallo Church of God and was a generous, Christian lady . She loved cooking for her family especially on holidays and was known by most as "Granny".
She was preceded in death by her husband, David "Pop" Holcombe; her youngest daughter, Jennifer Hyde; granddaughter, Ashley Church; and five siblings. Kathy is survived by sons, Bo Holcombe and Keith Holcombe (Kathy); daughter, Alicia Church (Oscar); 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo). A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo followed by a committal service at 1:15 PM at Alabama National Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Holsomback will officiate.
