

Mary Janice McEntee Martin, age 76, of Jemison, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. Janice was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 22, 1945. She was a 1963 graduate of Montevallo High School, and a 1967 graduate of Alabama College. She earned graduate degrees from the University of Alabama and the University of Montevallo. She taught high school mathematics for over 20 years, and before retirement, served as the mathematics department head at Thompson High School. She was a faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Montevallo, and for years volunteered at the Alabama Wildlife Center at Oak Mountain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip McEntee, Jr. and Mary McGowan McEntee. Janice is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jimmy W. Martin; daughter, Laura Kaylor (Troy); sons, Mark Martin (Pam) and Jared Martin (Jenny); grandchildren, Scott and Zachary Kaylor, Macey and Jack Martin, and Eli and Aurora Martin; brother, Philip J. McEntee III (Pauline); and sisters, Grace McEntee, Julie McEntee and Kathy McEntee.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will begin at 12:30 PM, followed by a committal service at 2:00 PM at Alabama National Cemetery. Father Ray Dunmyer will officiate.
