Melton “Mel” Lorenzo Stepp, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Kathleen Swindle Stepp; his parents, Alvis Guy Stepp, Sr. and Lois Ryan Stepp; and his brother, Elvis “Guy Jr.” Stepp. He is survived by his brother, Alvis Guy Stepp, Jr. (Clothenia); daughters, Debra L. Moore (Rodney) of Alabaster, Alabama and Ann Hill (Gary) of Pickerington, Ohio; grandchildren, Stacy Smith (Chris) of Alabaster, Alabama, Brian Harris (Dara) of Montevallo, Alabama, Jeromie Moore (Brandi) of Alabaster, Alabama, Jessica Moore (Adam Scott) of Jemison, Alabama, Grant Hill and Briana Hill of Pickerington, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Madison Hotchkiss, Austin Harris, Ryan Harris, Mason Hotchkiss, Violet Smith, Braxton Smith, Ava Moore, Morgan Hotchkiss and Cooper Moore.
Visitation will be held at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo) Chapel on Saturday, August 5, 2017 between 11am to 1pm with a service to follow at 1pm. Pastor Michael Mote and Brother David Scholl will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 11am at Red Bay City Cemetery in Red Bay, Alabama.
