He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Fannie Boothe; and his brother, Marvin Booth. He is survived by his children, Melvin "Jr." Booth, Jr. (Jennifer) and Margie Rasberry (Jeff); grandchildren, Wesley Hicks, Cynthia Koons (Jason), Blythe Crane (Brad), and Chelsea Moore (Matt); great-grandchildren, Kaylee Koons, Kyle Koons, Naomi Koons, Sophia Moore, and Ethan Moore; and the mother of his children, Linda Booth.
Melvin was a helluva welder and mechanic. He worked for 23 years for Southern Stone which became Dravo Basic Materials. In his spare time, he worked on cars and he was a Chevy man.
He will be laid to rest in a private service.
