

Oliver "Sid" Sidney Parker, age 85, of Alabaster, Alabama, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025. Sid was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Stromberg-Carlson in Sanford, Florida and then became a long-haul truck driver. Sid was a proud member of the American Legion Post #4 where he served as Sergeant at Arms, helped run the weekly bingo, and was involved in numerous community service projects.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol B. Parker; his parents, Edgar and Nellie Parker; his daughter, Robin Ann Mosley; and his sister, Lois Vivian Robinson Kelley. Sid is survived by his sons, Tommy Parker and Scott Parker, Sr. (Roxanne); step-daughters, Angie Carter-Houston (Scottie) and Janey Jensen (John); grandchildren, Nichole Jones (Alan), Brandon Miller (Shelly), Hope Parker, Beckey Parker, Scott Parker, Jr. (Angela), Chris Parker, Mariah Parker (Andrew Delpha), Robert Bako (Bree), John Bako, Jennifer Jackson, Andrew Bako, and Dana Varelas (Peter). He was also blessed with twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his brother, George Parker (Susan).
A committal service will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to American Legion Legacy Fund Post #4, 181 Reid Road, Cullman, AL 35057.
