Simmons, Rebecca Jane “Becky”, age 73, of Montevallo, passed away October 21, 2014. She was born to Susie and Seamon Pennington in the community of Paremont (Helena), with 17 bothers and 1 sister. She graduated from Thompson High School. She loved fishing, camping, BBQ’ing, gambling and Alabama football. She wasn’t afraid to work outside in construction and worked harder than any man.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Simmons (Donna); siblings, Johnny Pennington (Geraldine), Wayne Pennington (Jane), Sue Dunn, David Pennington, and Larry O’Neal Pennington; grandchildren, Jeff “JJ” Simmons, Jr. and Brittany Rebecca Simmons; and great-grandchildren, Konner Simmons and Allison Grace Simmons.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with the service at 11 AM on Friday. Bro. Tim Trimble will officiate and burial will be at Roy Cemetery in Helena.
