

Sara Lacey Erwin, of Birmingham, Alabama died on Friday, December 9, 2022. She graduated from Montevallo High School and attended Alabama College. She was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. She was also a member of DAR, UDC, Montevallo Historical Society and attended several book clubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Morgan Lacey and Anne Thompson Lacey; sister, Dorothy Lacey Gardner; and her brother, John Edgar Lacey. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Erwin Andrews of Homewood; granddaughter, Suzanne Pack Gray and great-grandchildren, Caroline Morgan Gray, Alexander James Gray and Jack Thomas Gray, all of Homewood; niece, Anne Bashore Thomas (David) of Montevallo; nephew, John Edward Lacey of Pensacola; great-nephews, Patrick David Thomas (Gina) and Coleman Lacey; great-nieces, Lacey Thomas Reid (Danny), Laura Thomas Bragg (Steve) and Diana Lacey; and great-great-nieces and -nephews, Mason & Logan Thomas, Ellen & Madelyn Reid, and Kathryn & Riley Bragg.
A memorial service for Sara will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of Montevallo, 861 Middle St, Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Rev. Lawton Higgs will officiate.
Sara will be laid to rest in Montevallo City Cemetery in a private service.
In lieu of flowers, Sara requested any memorial contributions be made to The Angel Fund at Independent Presbyterian Church or The Presbyterian Children's Home in Talladega.
