Stephen Turney Taylor, age 63, of Montevallo, died April 1, 2015. Known as “Big Daddy”, he loved to create and sell fishing lures from his home. He was graduated from the University of Montevallo, and was retired Lieutenant of the University of Montevallo Police Department. He was a member of Aldridge Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Holt Taylor and sister, Elizabeth McArdle. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joannie Polk Taylor; daughter, Amy Taylor of Montevallo; son, Justin Taylor (Rae) of Clanton; mother, Roxie Pearl Mauldin Taylor; and brother, Mark Taylor (Faye) of Northport. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), with funeral services to begin at 2:00 PM. Rev. Jerry Phillips and Rev. Bobby Coston will officiate and burial will be at Montevallo City Cemetery.
