Funeral services will held Thursday, November 5, 2020 between 5 and 7 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo. Burial followed at Alabama National Cemetery, with Rockco Funeral Home directing.
Tommy was born in the Birmingham, Alabama area on November 12, 1942. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodstock and had been a beloved helper and friend of the Rev. Bro. Ben Corley. He worked hard for many years as a truck driver for companies including Ross Neely, Hall Systems, Baggett, and U.S. Express- driving thousands upon thousands of miles, coast to coast, transporting a host of materials from coal to military explosives. In another occupational role, he was an institutional food salesman for Red Diamond. Tommy loved to relive his personal and career experiences through engaging and colorful storytelling. He attended Jones Valley High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Tommy loved the Lord, church, his family, animals and nature, Alabama football, helping others, jigsaw puzzles, checkers, dominoes, drawing, enjoying coffee and good food, watching westerns, Chevrolet and GM automobiles, Elvis and gospel music, professional wrestling, comedy, and telling jokes among other interests.
He is survived and sorely missed by his daughters, Tammy Hill, Kristy Hill, and Kimberly Bolling (Cedric); and two grandchildren, Taylor Bolling and Jaelyn Bolling. His special helpers were Katie, Ashley, and Keith of Oasis Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents,Thomas Allen Hill, Sr and Norma Boyd Hill Postell; former wife Judy Harrison Hill, and many beloved dog rescues and adoptees over the years such as Dakotah, Tai, Little Man, Kramer, and Sandy.
