Vincent "Sid" Anthony Butera

Vincent "Sid" Anthony Butera, age 70, passed away at home on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Sid graduated from Ensley High School and the University of Montevallo. Most of his career was spent as a boilermaker, where he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local Lodge #108. He loved to grow plants and had a green thumb from a young age. He was a kid at heart and his favorite position in life was PawPaw. He would take his grandkids wherever they wanted to go and buy them whatever they wanted.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Martha Butera. Sid is survived by his daughters, Emily Butera (Jamal Boykin) and Evelyn Ward (David Shaw); stepdaughter, Kena Vaughn (Chris); grandchildren, Xavier Merchant, McKenna Butera, Mason Butera and ; brothers, Joseph Butera (Daphne) and John Butera (Dr. Joyce Greathouse); sister, Nikie Bettinger (Pam McClain) nephew, Blake Dobbins (Veronica); and beloved in-laws, Sharon and John Boykin, and Jasmine Boykin.

A visitation for Sid will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rockco Funeral Home (Montevallo), 3715 Highway 25, Montevallo, AL 35115. *Due to a weather delay, the graveside service will occur Monday, June 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Hwy, Trussville, AL 35115.
