Bill was born in Birmingham, Alabama, December 18, 1932, to Ida Mae Massey Pitts and Cecil Henry Pitts. He worked at McKesson Robbins where he met his future wife, Eva. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years. Upon retirement, he became a biomedical technician assisting hospitals around the state.
Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alabaster and loved his Sunday School class. Due to having Alzheimer's disease, though, he was no longer able to attend.
Bill loved history, electronics, and flying. Most of all, though, he loved his family and always thanked God for giving him his wife, children, and grandchildren. He played games with his grandchildren, made a playhouse with them, went to their sporting events and recitals, and showed them his love in so many ways. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Pitts will have a Graveside service at Alabama National Cemetery Monday, December 14, 2020, at 1:15 p.m.
