Ann Harbin Leisy
March 8, 1932 – October 17, 2025
Ann Harbin Leisy, longtime resident of Montgomery, passed
away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Lake Martin,
surrounded by her loving and devoted children, on October 17,
2025.
She was born in Miami, Florida, on March 8, 1932, to the late
Charles Theodore and Anna Mary Campbell Harbin.
She is survived by her three beloved children, Ann Harbin
“Nunu” Nutting (Bill), Anna Marie “Mimi” Rush (Ken), and
Henry Eric Leisy (Melissa); her youngest brother, whom she
adored, Robert “Bobby” Harbin of Alpharetta, Georgia; and
her dearly loved grandchildren, Katherine Ann Leisy Umfress
(Trey), Charles Henry Leisy, Anna Marie Nutting, and
Winston Leisy Rush.
She is also survived by her first great-grandchild, Mary
Campbell Umfress; step–great-granddaughter, Elliott Umfress;
as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her former husband and father of
her children, Colonel Henry J. Leisy; and her brothers,
Michael Grosvenor “Jere” Harbin of Montgomery and
Charles T. Harbin of Kissimmee, Florida.
Ann received her education at the University of Alabama and
the New York School of Interior Design, and was a member of
the Institute of Business Designers. This foundation guided her
in numerous business ventures during her younger years. She also enjoyed a successful career investing in real estate
throughout Montgomery, Lake Martin, and the Gulf Coast.
She appreciated all things beautiful—such as the fine arts of
music, ballet, cathedrals, museums, and traveling the world. She
was active throughout her lifetime in numerous civic, social, and
religious organizations in Montgomery. Ann’s life was marked
by generosity, joy, and a strong faith. She was a true Southern
lady who exemplified grace and dignity.
At Ann’s request, a private graveside service for immediate
family will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, with Father
Andrew Rowell of Christchurch officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ann’s memory
to Christchurch All Saints School Uganda —

Donations will provide children in the Sebei Diocese with
education, clothing, and nutrition.
The family expresses great gratitude to Enhabit Hospice
caregivers and Elizabeth “Scooter” Copeland for their comfort
and compassion.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have
kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award
to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have
longed for His appearing.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7-8
