Betty G. Lossman

Betty Joyce Graham Lossman (Mimi), 85, a resident of Montgomery, AL and a former resident of Fayetteville, GA, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 2:00 PM from Greenwood Cemetery with visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service at Leak-Memory Chapel. Rev. Kirby Smith and Kevin Goodner will officiate. Ms. Lossman was born in Rochelle, GA. After retiring from Atlanta Gas Light Co., she moved to Montgomery in anticipation of the birth of her first great-granddaughter. She volunteered at MACOA, enjoyed canasta and the Montgomery Newcomers Club. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include her children: Betty Matthews, Suzan Chick (John), Elaine Adcock (Hugh), Frank Peavy (Amy); grandchildren: Angie Matthews Burkhalter, Elizabeth Shiroishi (Jason), Gina McLennan (Todd), Kayla Peavy (Edson Spadoni), Katherine Peavy, Richard F. “Matt” Matthews, Jr. (Angie), Robby Adcock (DeAnna); great-grandchildren: Clayton Elizabeth Royal, Emma Katherine Matthews, Allison Graham Matthews, Livia Rosemonde Shiroishi, Kira Rachel Shiroishi, Alexa Laurin Adams, Elaina Kay Adcock, Bradley Dale Burkhalter, William Trent Royal, Brantley Robert McLennan and Richard F. “Trey” Matthews, III. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Young Meadows Presbyterian Church, 5780 Vaughn Rd., Montgomery, AL 36116, or to one’s favorite charity.
