Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Robert (Bob) Stockett, brothers Greel Foshee, John Curtis Foshee, Jr., Glen Foshee, and sister Laurice Culp Moseley. She is Survived by her daughters, Anne Smith, Jo McNeill (Ben), Robin Stephens (Jimmy), Diana Rowan, and Peggy Dramer (Jim), and son Travis Stockett, and many grandchildren (19), several who spent a great amount of time with her over the years and have many wonderful memories to cherish. Also, several great grand children, who love her and will miss her very much. She is also survived by her especially close sister, Alene LaBass, and dear younger brother Ray Foshee (Margie).
Betty was known for her artistic ability, and worked as a fashion illustrator for Montgomery Fair, and later obtained her real estate license. She and her husband Bob, we’re a great team when it came to buying, renovating and remodeling houses, now known as “flipping”. She was a very creative person in all that she did, decorating her home, her wonderful made from scratch meals that she always prepared for her family so lovingly, and her beautiful plants and flowers that thrived from her green thumb.
As the years passed, Betty always looked forward to receiving phone calls and visits from her family, especially since the death of her husband. You could “hear” her smile through the phone, or get to see her beautiful smile and face light up in person when visiting her. Our hearts are sad, but the memories we have of our precious Mother, and Nonnie will have to sustain us until we will be able to once again see her beautiful smile, and put our arms around her.
Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory, 945 Lincoln Road, Tuesday, July 26, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Leak-MC.com for the STOCKETT family.
