Beverly Jimmie Roden, a beloved resident of Newnan, Georgia, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on July 5, 1944, Beverly was a woman known for her laughter and joy, bringing light to everyone she encountered.
Beverly's early life began in Montgomery, Alabama. She was a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and a dedicated member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Montgomery. Her devotion to her faith was evident as she sang in the choir, played handbells, and was a faithful attendee of Sunday School and church services.
Her professional career spanned 32 years with the State of Alabama, including 18 years with the State Ethics Commission. Beverly retired at the age of 50 but continued to enrich the lives of others by working part-time at a senior living facility. There, she managed the gift shop and delighted residents by baking cookies in a toaster oven.
Beverly is survived by her sister, Julie Stephens, and her two sons: Terre, along with his wife Lora and their daughter Kaytlyn; and Toye, with his daughters Chelsea and Riley, and son Jensen. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dixie Howard; her father, Jim Howard; and her husband, James Roden.
The family will be comforted by the words of Rev. Mark Pate, who will officiate the services in Beverly's honor. Beverly's life was a testament to her faith, love for her family, and dedication to her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
