Burt M. Turner Jr. was born in Westminster, SC, on August 10, 1931, and passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on March 19, 2024. He married the love of his life February 12, 1954, in Topeka, Kansas. Burt proudly served his country with 21 years of service in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, he owned and operated a lawn service specializing in cutting and maintaining cemeteries until he retired in 2014. He was a longtime faithful member of the Eastern Meadows Church of Christ in Montgomery and in more recent years of the Grandview Pines Church of Christ in Millbrook. He served as both a deacon and an elder in the Lord’s church. Burt also enjoyed serving as a volunteer at the Montgomery Cancer Center for 16 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Burt M. Turner Sr. and Minnie Turpin Turner; wife Lily Arlene Stroup Turner; daughter-in-law Denise Turner; brothers Glen Turner, Carl Turner and Jack Turner; sisters Ruby Turner Bolt and Annie Ruth Turner.
Burt is survived by Sherry (James) Bukovatz, Topeka, KS; Dennis (Shelia) Turner, Prattville, AL; Helen (Michael) Cain, Edmond, OK; Donald Turner, Henderson, NV; brother Harold “Wayman” Turner, Westminster, SC; sisters Duree Turner Skinner, Hartwell, GA; Vera Turner Bright, Seneca, SC; grandchildren Heather (Donny) Bukovatz Driver, James Matthew Bukovatz, Dinah (Bolling) Holt, Michael Jeremy (Stefani) Cain, Jason (Kassi) Cain, Caleb (Paige) Cain, Samantha Turner and Jacob Turner. He was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren.
