Catherine Ganey Bracknell

Bracknell, Catherine Ganey, age 91 passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her home. She was born in Lon June 22, 1922 to Francis Marion and Alberta West Grider. Funeral services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Tom Smith officiating. Mrs. Bracknell will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. She is survived by her husband, E.E. Bracknell; son, Paul Daniel (Rebecca) Ganey; granddaughter, Michelle Berney; great-grandchildren, Katy Berney and Avery Berney; step-son, Tommy (Gaye) Bracknell, step- grandchildren, Jeff (Kim) Bracknell, Brook (Brandon) Poe; numerous neices and nephews. Mrs. Bracknell was employed by Belks Department store from the time it opened until it closed advancing from clerk to office manager. She was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and the Grace Sunday School Class.Honorary pallbearers will be members of her Sunday School class. Serving as Pall bearers will be, Greg Lackett, Walt Wilson, Avery Berney, Raddie Hope, Don Weathers and Dale Jones.The family would like to Thank Gentiva Hospice staff, Margaret and Lula for her care during the last days. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 5260 Vaughn Rd., Montogmery, AL 36116.
