Charline was born on February 8th, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Evergreen Park and married Ken there in 1955. Soon after, they both moved with her parents to Montgomery, Alabama, her parents’ original hometown. Charline and Ken lived in Montgomery for the rest of their lives.
She loved God, her family and friends, and her cats and dogs. She was a devoted wife and mother, and a dedicated homemaker. She also delighted in nature, including camping with her husband and son in her younger years.
She was a valued contributor in her churches, and was particularly adept at welcoming visitors and new members to make them feel at home. During her last year, she enjoyed actively participating as a founding member in a new women’s group at Christ Lutheran Church.
Charline continued to touch many lives with her selflessness and welcoming demeanor, even as she grew frail while living with Parkinsons.
Funeral services followed by a repast will be held on Saturday March 29th at 11am at Christ Lutheran Church in Prattville, Alabama (clcprattville.org), with the Reverend Dan Pharr, Pastor, officiating. Charline’s ashes will be inurned on a later date in Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Montgomery, Alabama, joining the remains of her husband Ken.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made as tribute gifts in Charline’s honor to the Parkinson's Foundation at parkinson.org, or as memorial gifts to Christ Lutheran Church.
